Dear Brothers and Sisters,

 March is coming up, and with it comes many Festa Days, which most of you know revolve around our favorite foods.  March 17th, we celebrate St Patrick’s with corned beef and cabbage, then with braided bread, zeppole and cuccidati, on March 19th, we celebrate St Joseph’s, as well as MY birthday!

In March, Italians celebrate International Women’s Day (Festa della Donna) on the 8th, which is marked by gifting women mimosa flowers as a symbol of solidarity.  They also pay homage to the Anniversary of the Unification of Italy on March 17th, the day Italy became a unified nation in 1861.

Thanks to our very generous new meeting sponsor, Chef Luciano Balzano of IL TARTUFO Ristorante in Parkland (southwest Boca!), we will be enjoying authentic wood-fired PIZZA on March 13th meeting at our new venue at South County Civic Center.  MILLE GRAZIE!!

Our Membership team is busy helping members renew and/or join our lodge.  For current members, it’s time to RENEW now.  We’d hate to see you go, as YOU are the heartbeat of our Lodge!  We have several options for you to pay for membership, either in person with a check or cash at the next meeting, or more easily done, you can Zelle as soon as possible.  Remember, if you need any help, please contact us.

We’ve heard from a few members for ride-shares to attend meetings, so if YOU need help with transportation, just reach out and we will come get you!!  As always, mark your calendars now to attend future meetings (next up April 10th and May 8th) and join us, your “famiglia italiana”.  If you have questions, stories to share, any issues or problems, please give me a call at 561-715-1361.

Marzo si avvicina e con lui arrivano molti giorni di festa, che sappiamo tutti ruotano attorno ai nostri cibi preferiti. Il 17 marzo festeggiamo San Patrizio con manzo in salamoia e cavolo cappuccio, poi il 19 marzo  festeggiamo San Giuseppe con pane intrecciato, zeppole e cuccidati (e il MIO compleanno).
